An inhabited landscape

A 22,000 m² coastal resort that steps down the terrain. Glazed rooms, planted terraces and waterside platforms connect hospitality to the shoreline.

The Seafront Resort is arranged as a succession of living spaces descending towards the sea. Terraced accommodation balances privacy between villas with direct access to the waterfront. Dark-framed glazing and warm-toned surfaces sit among planted slopes, with terraces extending the occupied space outdoors.

The overall composition follows the coast rather than presenting a single uninterrupted frontage. At the water, piers and open platforms introduce another scale of occupation: places close to the surface of the sea and separate from the rooms above. The 22,000 m² scheme brings the room, the terrace and the waterfront into one continuous experience.

A contemporary reading

Recent landscape-led work directs attention to how buildings touch a site. This proposal is most clearly understood through its sectional sequence, from hillside rooms and planted edges to the open waterfront.
