When light becomes architecture.

As daylight recedes, a building is read through a different set of relationships. An entrance can become the clearest point of arrival, a screen can reveal its depth, and an illuminated edge can describe a route. We consider this second presence as part of the design. Light belongs to the surface, threshold or activity that it helps people understand.

The facade-renewal study integrates pixel lighting into its hexagonal facade screen, alongside selected media surfaces. The repeated geometry gives the existing complex a common rhythm by day; after dark, illumination changes the way that outer layer is perceived across the city. The design connects this visual identity to replaceable modules, maintenance access and a phased installation strategy for the occupied complex.

At the sports venue, linear lighting follows circulation and is integrated into counters, shelving and mirrors. The pilot office uses lit shelving to give depth to a compact workplace with limited daylight. The business centre draws light into the continuous form of its reception and the entrance sequence around it. These projects bring the question from the scale of the city to the scale of a room: what should become visible, and how does that visibility help the place work?
