A second presence

A renewed facade identity for an existing office complex combines retained building volumes, a hexagonal screen and integrated lighting, with a distinct presence by day and after dark.

Programme
Office complex facade renewal
Scope
Facade and architectural lighting design
Presentation date

The facade-renewal design gives an existing office complex a coherent identity across its curved horizontal building and four round towers. The design retains the overall geometry and primary structure, concentrating the transformation in the outer envelope. A unified graphite palette provides the starting point for developed facade options, including a hexagonal screen, architectural-concrete panels and renewed glazing.

The honeycomb facade combines a continuous geometric layer with integrated pixel lighting and selected media surfaces. By day, the screen gives the complex depth and a shared rhythm; after dark, light brings a different scale to its visibility across the city. The design integrates maintenance access, replaceable modules and a phased installation strategy for the occupied complex.

A contemporary reading

Renewal begins with deciding what an existing building can keep. The project shifts attention from a new silhouette to the relationship between the retained volumes, their outer layer and the way an occupied complex might change over time.
