Architecture

A world for discovery

The Kindergarten project brings a clear material rhythm to an expressive learning environment. Timber-clad volumes are punctuated by brightly coloured frames, while a glazed structure and external circulation bring light and activity to the space between them. An adaptable modular approach brings a clear underlying order to the relationship between the rooms and outdoor play.

Colour gives individual openings a recognisable character without obscuring the repetition of the facade. The buildings gather around a shared outdoor space, making the route between rooms part of the overall composition. The 2,700 m² scheme makes the courtyard part of the learning environment.

A contemporary reading

Contemporary education and community projects place everyday experience at the centre of design. This scheme is especially relevant through its scale of attention: identifiable openings, visible circulation and an outdoor room shared by the whole building.
