Interiors

A measured entrance

A warm residential lobby with veined surfaces, dark vertical panels and flowing ceiling light. A long entrance becomes a measured sequence of arrival.

Status
completed

This residential lobby is a completed interior. A reception counter is aligned with the long entrance space, alongside pale veined walls and darker vertical elements that give the circulation a regular rhythm. Integrated mailbox banks turn a practical requirement into part of the wall composition.

Curving lines of ceiling light soften the linear arrangement, while the glazed entrance brings daylight to the end of the room. The palette is restrained, allowing surface variation, shadow and the changing width of the circulation to establish character. It is a study in making a shared threshold feel considered and recognisable.

A contemporary reading

The contemporary value of a lobby extends beyond first impressions. This project can be read through the daily experience of returning home: orientation, a place to collect post, and a shared address with its own atmosphere.
