Architecture

Together, individually

Repeated gables, projecting windows and individual entrances give a 1,200 m² townhouse concept both continuity and identity. A familiar type is made more expressive through detail.

The townhouse concept uses a sequence of pitched roofs to organise the residential frontage. Dark horizontal surfaces sit beneath warm-toned gable edges, while pale entrance surrounds and projecting window elements articulate each home within the group. The overall programme extends across 1,200 m².

The approach receives particular attention: steps, sheltered doors and changes in material make each address visible within the repeated composition. The roofline establishes a shared rhythm, and the openings introduce variation at the scale of the individual dwelling.

A contemporary reading

Current interest in compact housing brings the repeated dwelling type back into focus. These townhouses suggest how a shared architectural language can support density while preserving the recognisable threshold of an individual home.
